The administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Peter Osarimen Ukhurebor, Founder and CEO of Black At, to the Council for Creative Technology Futures (CCTF) — a newly launched national body set up to drive innovation in Nigeria’s cultural and creative industries.

The appointment, conveyed by Obi Asika, Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC), underscores the government’s confidence in Peter’s ability to help position Nigeria as a global leader where culture meets cutting-edge technology.

The CCTF, approved by the Federal Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, will guide policy, strategy, and implementation for harnessing emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Augmented and Virtual Reality (AR/VR), Web3, and Blockchain across more than 49 sectors of Nigeria’s creative economy. With the industry projected to exceed $25 billion by 2025, the council is seen as a game-changer for job creation, IP protection, and global market expansion.

Peter brings over 15 years of elite global experience as a brand architect, cultural strategist, and creative visionary. He has designed transformative campaigns for Fortune 500 brands and top-tier agencies, producing work that blends commercial success with cultural impact. Through Black At, he has championed equity, representation, and innovation, creating high-profile platforms at Cannes Lions, AfroFuture Festival, and other global events that convene business leaders, artists, and changemakers.

In his appointment letter, Obi Asika highlighted Peter’s unique value to the council:

“This appointment is a recognition of your exemplary professional accomplishments and your commitment to advancing Nigeria’s cultural and creative industries. Your expertise, leadership, and vision will help us shape the future of Nigeria’s creative sector as it converges with emerging technologies.”

With his track record of connecting commerce and culture, building influential partnerships, and amplifying African creativity on global stages, Peter is expected to play a pivotal role in ensuring the CCTF achieves its mission of unlocking millions of jobs, attracting investment, and empowering a new generation of Nigerian creators and innovators.
