The Macallan, the world-renowned single-malt Scotch whisky, brought its Timeless Collection to Port Harcourt on May 1, 2026, completing a landmark three-city Nigerian rollout that began in Lagos and continued through Abuja.
The evening, held at J Signature Hotel, New GRA, introduced the brand’s redesigned Double Cask and Sherry Oak Collections to a city that has long demonstrated a deep and discerning appreciation for premium luxury.
This edition drew key personalities from across the city, including The Macallan Brand Influencer Beauty Tukura, Funmi Olowole, Ying Goma, Uwem Etuck, Ayebetari Opara, and Janda Chukuigwe, among others, adding another distinct chapter to a rollout that has consistently reflected The Macallan’s ability to find the right room in every city it enters.
At the centre of the experience was Omodolapo Olaiwole, Brand Ambassador for The Macallan, who guided guests through the heritage of the house and the thinking behind the Timeless Collection redesign with depth and clarity. Guests were welcomed by the soft sounds of a live string quartet before settling into an immersive three-course dining experience, with each course thoughtfully paired with expressions from the Double Cask Collection spanning the 12, 15 and 18 years old.
The evening reached one of its defining moments with a special toast featuring The Macallan 30 Year Old Double Cask before award-winning artist Praiz delivered a live performance that brought warmth, energy and a soulful close to the night.
Developed in creative collaboration with acclaimed graphic designer David Carson, the Timeless Collection is the result of a considered redesign. The new bottle silhouette draws inspiration from the distillery’s sweeping roof; the triangular shoulder label references Spain’s Sherry Triangle; and new cask symbols on the rear labels communicate the influence of American and European oak clearly and elegantly. The liquid itself remains entirely unchanged.
Speaking on the significance of the Port Harcourt launch, Hammed Adebiyi, Senior Brand Manager, West and Central Africa, at Edrington, said: “Bringing the Timeless Collection to Port Harcourt and completing this journey across Nigeria feels particularly meaningful for us. From Lagos to Abuja and now Port Harcourt, we have seen how deeply Nigerian consumers connect with brands that value craft, heritage and intentionality. This collection reflects our desire to evolve thoughtfully, to present our iconic bottles, now reimagined with a clearer and more intentional visual identity, while preserving the exceptional whisky consumers already know and trust.”
As the Port Harcourt edition draws the Nigerian rollout to a close, The Macallan’s Timeless Collection has made its mark across Nigeria’s three most influential cities. For the brand, the message remains consistent across every room it has entered. The bottle has evolved. The whisky, and the standard it represents, never will.
