Marketing and media leader, Adeola Amosun, has been named one of Nigeria and the diaspora’s Top 50 Trailblazers shaping the future of Public Relations and Communications. The recognition, curated by GLG Communications in partnership with The Guardian Nigeria, celebrates individuals who are redefining how brands tell stories, engage audiences, and drive meaningful change through media and communication.

With a career spanning more than a decade, Adeola has become one of the country’s most respected voices in marketing and media. He is currently the Group Media Manager at Tolaram, where he leads strategy and innovation across multiple brands. Over the years, he has collaborated across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, working with some of the world’s most iconic brands including Coca-Cola, Guinness, P&G, Nivea, StanbicIBTC, PZ Wilmar, British Broadcasting Corporation(BBC), Oppo Mobile, Cartoon Network and Standard Chartered Bank.

His portfolio includes several high-impact campaigns such as the Pampers #MomsKnowBest campaign featuring Tiwa Savage, the Johnnie Walker White Walker launch, several Nivea’s campaigns including the Nivea Natural Fairness campaign with Omowunmi Akinnifesi, Harmattan is Coming, Be Beautiful campaign with Beverly Naya, etc. He also played a strategic role in renaming McDowell’s to MrDowell’s and helped drive the award-winning Duracell “Last Longer” campaign. Additionally, The Colgate “Yanga with your Smile” campaign, Lush Be Beautiful, Indomie’s Mama Do Good, Power Oil Together We Can, are some of his recent groundbreaking media initiatives.

Beyond campaigns, Adeola has managed projects in over six African countries – Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Mauritius, Angola, and Côte d’Ivoire- leading teams and delivering measurable media performance. Notably, during his time overseeing Nivea, he helped the agency secure significant amounts in media performance bonuses through annual audits conducted by Accenture and Ebiquity.

Reflecting on the honour, Amosun shared:

“This journey – from the newsroom to the boardroom – has always been about creating value and delivering impact. I’ve never chased recognition, but moments like this are a reminder that quiet consistency, excellence, and purpose-driven work still matter.”

He expressed gratitude to GLG Communications, The Guardian Nigeria, curator Omawumi Ogbe, and the jury panel, while also saluting his fellow honorees—“the juggernauts, storytellers, and system builders transforming African communications.”

Adeola began his career as a journalist with Kapital FM, the Lagos State Ministry of Information, before transitioning to a media strategy and planning role at Dentsu Nigeria and eventually joining Tolaram, one of Africa’s leading conglomerates.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Ahmadu Bello University, and an MBA in Global Business Management from Nexford University. He has also completed multiple certifications on leadership, business strategy, and finance.

His work has earned him several industry accolades including:

    • Media Personality of the Year (2023 & 2024)

    • Young Media Personality of the Year (2023)

    • Tolaram Emerging Leader Award (2023)

    • Multiple Pitchers Awards – Integrated Media Campaign, Use of Media, use of data, Use of Insight and Strategy

As the communications and marketing landscape across Africa continues to evolve, Adeola remains committed to helping brands grow with precision, insight, and authenticity – while mentoring the next generation of storytellers, strategists, and business leaders.

His recognition as a Top 50 Trailblazer affirms not just past achievements, but an ongoing mission to elevate African voices and businesses through smart, value-driven communications
